Latent Pythagorean Unveiling

Fact-based archeology has not presented direct evidence of the Pythagorean School.  The survival options of a school when tyrannized by neighboring savages, along with its survivors might logically disappear from official and chronicler views. Incommunicado teachers could wait for millennia until future humans became receptive to their teachings. 

Secrecy was a necessary survival technique preserving dedicated human beings who included students, esotericians and new seekers. Schooling proceeded at another level, and it was unknown to outsiders. The surviving Pythagoreans desisted from any openness whatsoever  for safety reasons.  With millennia past, a book has more to say.  Scroll to 1.7 Pythagoras , same link as below.

Takeaways:  Pythagoras' small colony and school was utterly destroyed thousands of years ago, and the modern vicinity is viewed by arial photo, to generally see the landscape around Laurency's reference, "outside the town of Taormina in Sicily".
